Famous for his signature top hat, the artist follows up his recent Top Hat sneak preview at the Cannes Film Festival. This Art Southampton event marks the official North American launch of KEVIN BERLIN NEW YORK Top Hats. A special interactive installation will be featured.

Famous for his signature Top Hat, the Artist first launched the ’Classic’ Top Hat Collection at the Cannes Film Festival at the Intercontinental Carlton Cannes in 2016. The Gala Fashion Evening featured a couture runway show and red carpet presentation of the complete collection. That year also marked the official North American launch of KEVIN BERLIN NEW YORK Top Hats at Art Southampton, the premier contemporary and modern art fair in the Hamptons.

Kevin Berlin is an International Artist best known for painting, sculpture, and performance. As seen in New York Times, Shanghai Daily, Miami Herald, Tokyo Television, BBC Radio. Berlin's artworks are found in collections of Luciano Pavarotti, Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Quincy Jones, Carnival Cruise Lines and General Motors. Berlin’s recent solo exhibitions include shows in Miami, Palm Beach, New York, London and Shanghai.

KBNY FAQS - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How do you pick the right size?

Measure circumference of head. Start measurement where hat band fits most comfortably around head (middle of the forehead and measure approx. 1/3 inch (1cm) over the ear.) The majority of persons fit one of the following sizes: 56 & 57. Right size can also be influenced by personal style, hair and shape of head as the hats are slightly more flexible and softer than the traditional Top Hat.

Size 56: 22- 22.5 in. (56-57 cm.)

Size 57: 22.5- 22.8 in. (57-58 cm.)

2. What does the X, XX, or XXX mean on the leather band of my hat?

The X refers only to the height of your hat. KBNY hats are currently available in three heights X, XX, XXX.

X: 6.3 inches (16 cm) tall

XX: 7.1 inches (18 cm) tall

XXX: 8.7 inches (22 cm) tall

3. How do I clean/care for my hat?

Do not wash or dry-clean hat. Dirty spots are best cleaned with a damp cloth. Gently wipe only the soiled area and reshape the hat to its original shape. If your hat gets dusty, clean it with a soft horsehair brush and refresh its shape. Hold above mild steam during this process (minimum distance 30 cms.).

4. How do I properly store my hat?

The best way to store your hat is by placing your hat brim-up on a soft surface. Storing in a box or in a cabinet protects against dust.

5. Will rain affect my hat?

A few moments of mild rain will not damage your hat. It is best to keep it dry. If the hat does get wet, allow it to dry on its own. Do not force dry with hair dryer or other heat source. Hats are not waterproof.

6. How and where is my hat made?

Each hat is made of the world’s finest quality materials.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF KEVIN BERLIN NEW YORK

KEVIN BERLIN NEW YORK was founded in 1999 as a luxury sock company. The company was launched in the Empire State Building Lobby Gallery and within a year had socks in 18 stores in Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide and eventually expanded with an office in London.

The company was inspired by a gift Top Hat which the Artist received on his 18th birthday from his parents in honor of his first solo art show which took place in the Bonwit Teller windows on 5th Avenue in New York City.

In 2014, the Artist decided to reinvent the Top Hat. Following two years of countless prototypes, development and designs to improve the traditional Top Hat, “The Original Soft Top Hat” was born. “The Classic Black Collection” was introduced in 2016 with a sneak preview at the Cannes Film Festival Global Short Film Awards. The worldwide launch of KEVIN BERLIN NEW YORK took place in The Hamptons at Art Southampton international art fair.
